Titchfield has always been a village that values its history, charm, and community spirit. Back in 1987 and 1988, our efforts were officially recognised when we won Hampshire County Council’s Best Kept Village Award—not once, but twice! To commemorate this proud achievement, we installed a beautiful village clock in the square as a lasting symbol of our shared dedication to Titchfield’s heritage.

Keeping Time with Tradition
For over 20 years, the clock faithfully watched over the village, ticking away as life in Titchfield bustled beneath it. But as the years passed, it began to lose time, and when the new owner of the building it sat on asked for its removal, we had to find a new home for our beloved timepiece.
A New Home Above Hadlows Butchers
That’s when the wonderful team at Hadlows Family Butchers stepped in! They offered to host the clock above their shop, keeping it in the heart of Titchfield where it belongs. We at Titchfield Village Trust (TVT) took on the task of refurbishing and rehoming it, ensuring it would continue to serve the village for years to come.
More Accurate Than Ever!
As part of its upgrade, we fitted the clock with a modern electronic monitoring system that keeps it far more accurate than before. It even automatically adjusts for daylight saving time, so no more waiting for someone to climb up and tweak it twice a year!

A Symbol of Titchfield’s Community Spirit
This clock isn’t just about telling time—it represents Titchfield’s ability to honour its history while moving forward. Thanks to the collaboration between local businesses, community members, and TVT, we’ve been able to preserve a piece of our village’s story.
So next time you walk past Hadlows, look up and take a moment to appreciate Titchfield’s timeless treasure.
